From Library Journal:
Timed to coincide with the 75th running of the Indianapolis 500 this month, automotive journalist Taylor's book is a detailed history of the event from its beginning in 1911 through last year's surprise win by Dutchman Arie Luyendyk. Clear explanations of technical innovations and approximately 500 photos (nearly half in color) are strong points, along with the complete results for each year's race. On the debit side, the book's layout, with the main text frequently interrupted by short essays ranging from one to three pages in length, makes maintaining continuity a chore for the reader. Also, perhaps because of its technical emphasis, the book's tone is rather dry. Purchase if you have many motorsports fans.
