Donna M. Jackson is an award-winning author of many nonfiction books for young readers.  Her work includes What's So Funny? Making Sense of Humor, and, most recently, The Elephant Scientist - named a 2012 Robert F. Sibert Honor book, an NSTA/CBC Outstanding Science Trade book, and an ALA Notable Children's Book.  She lives with her husband, Charlie, and their family in Colorado.

Ted Stearn is an illustrator and storyboard artist for several animated cartoons, including King of the Hill and Drawn Together. He lives in Los Angeles, California.
