Her "last chance" assignment is to help Susan--a girl so perfect everyone disdains her--become likable. Unknown to Maybelle, a mischievous imp (really a cherub raised by imps who got him because Maybelle delivered him to the wrong address) has been sabotaging her good deeds and is now hatching a plot to make sure Maybelle fails again. Katherine Coville's nicely detailed black-and-white drawings depict a cast of wonderfully offbeat characters who, for all their supernatural powers, still find themselves in sticky, complicated human situations. The plot is well crafted, fast paced, and filled with the wacky humor kids crave.
