Richard Schori, a lifelong Episcopalian, grew up in Illinois and is a retired mathematics professor with significant publications in topology. He has also been a lifelong avid sports and outdoors enthusiast. He married Katharine in 1979, and they have a daughter Kate, son-in-law Aaron, and grandson Marcus. Richard retired from Oregon State University in 2001 to join Katharine in southern Nevada when she was consecrated bishop of Nevada. On trips with Katharine, he often talks to clergy spouse organizations and meets with groups of bishop spouses. Over the years, he has saved over 51,000 photographs from church trips with his wife.
