From School Library Journal:
Grade 5-9-A comprehensive, easy-to-read and understand overview of the history, causes, prevention, and treatment of the common cold and flu. The text is concise with sections delineated by different styles of type. Important points are repeated and emphasized in boxed sidebars. A few average-quality black-and-white photographs, some of which are greatly magnified, break up the text. There are no diagrams of the respiratory system or of the virus, but the quality and clarity of the up-to-date text make up for any lacking illustrative material. Nancy Stedman's The Common Cold and Influenza (Messner, 1986) has good diagrams, but concentrates on the causes and progress of the disease. Mary Kittredge's discussion of The Common Cold (Chelsea, 1990) is more complete but limited in focus. A well-organized, well-documented look at a common ailment.
