About the Author:
Tracey Ballas is the chief executive of School-Age NOTES Inc. She is also an education and training associate for the National Institute on Out-of-School Time (NIOST) at the Wellesley College Center for Women. Ballas was one of the founders of the National AfterSchool Association, serving as president for six years. She also was one of the founders and past president of the Ohio After-School Association. After many years of running programs in early-childhood centers, public schools, churches and YMCAs, Ballas became the statewide coordinator of both the Ohio Child Care Resource and Referral Association and the Ohio Project on Out-of-School Time. She has testified in Congress and served as an advisor to former Vice President Al Gore on the Welfare to Work Committee. She has been featured in articles for Child, Working Mother, Parenting and Child Care Exchange magazines. With nearly 25 years invested in the early-childhood and after-school fields, Ballas brings a wealth of experience and passion to the keynotes, workshops and training sessions she has conducted throughout the United States and Europe.
