Justine Eyre delivers a wonderful performance. The girls stay true to their original characters, and Eyre vocalizes them well: Lavinia sounds appropriately haughty and opinionated; Ermengarde, solemn and unsure; Lottie, young and spirited. Eyre alters her cadence to capture the events and emotions at the seminary, where formal Ms. Minchin keeps everyone in line. Sara's caring and assured voice is heard through her letters to Ermengarde, whose letters back to her carry along the story, which culminates in a turn of events that will change the girls' lives forever.
