From the Author:
Life is quirky,right?
One day I was thinking about that. I thought of some of my own odd adventures accrued in 81 years of living, others that happened to acquaintances, and some that had happened to people I had merely heard about. Hmmm...i wondered what if all these things were to happen in the life of one single person? PRESTO! A story was born! I can honestly attest that in this story most of the weird, funny, tragic, and romantic episodes, or similar ones, have actuallly occurred to me or to someone else. Are there actual autobiographical elements in this story? Hmmm...well, yes, but I think I'll leave it to you to figure out which ones they are.
I've always had a fascination for the unusual, the unlikely, the quirky, coupled with a tendency to prefer an occasional touch of "magical realism." (You know, a man falls asleep and dreams he is walking in a flower garaden; when he wakes he finds a rose resting on his chest). What else could I do but weave all those episodes and preferences into one narrative. You might say that I was driven to write the story.Perhaps you will be equally driven to read it. I sure hope so!
From the Back Cover:
"I'm gonna die," screams Cosmo as he hurtles earthward, a failed Navy parachute streaming behind him.
Yet, he somehow survives.
Was his unlikely birth in an Italian farmer's field in 1922 an omen of the odd cicumstances and mishaps that would characterize his life?
Ministered to in many of the critical moments of his life by a misterious "spooky" lady, Cosmo stumbles through countless storms: being forced to fight with the Italian Army against his fellow Americans in WW II, gut-wrenching failed romances, a daring escape from a Guatemalan jail, and more. Yet he manages to experience a meteoric rise to the top echelons of corporate management.
Later, as a widower in his eighties and living alone on a coastal island, he miraculously survives a storm-of-the-century hurricane, and his spooky lady makes an incredibly peculiar final appearance.
