Review:
Veterinarian Stacy Broussard is a volunteer ranger whose duty is to patrol the area around the Houston airport on horseback. But her life changes dramatically when she discovers a dead body, a motorcycle, an injured dog and a military drone powerful enough to attack a large aircraft. FBI Special Agent Alex LeBlanc and his partner Ric Price treat the situation as an act of terrorism and suspect everyone. The sparks begin to fly as Alex initially suspects Stacy, but realizes she might be in danger after more seemingly unrelated incidents occur. The trio join forces to find the connection between more mysterious deaths in the town, a possible water pollution scare and epidemic and one sweet, innocent dog. But Stacy proves her strength as she helps Whitt, a young 12 year-old boy with a brilliant IQ and abusive parents. Author DiAnn Mills skillfully combines suspense and romance through plot twists and turns as her characters face past issues and rely on their courage and faith to unravel the dilemma. Look for the next book in this exciting series. (Congregational Libraries Today)
