Written in 1893, 'Catriona' is the sequel to the highland adventure 'Kidnapped', and follows the further adventures of its hero, David Balfour. After arranging a safe passage to France for his comrade Alan Breck Stewart, David tries to clear their names of involvement in the murder of Colin Campbell of Glenure, the 'Red Fox'. The political complexities and intrigue surrounding the 'Appin murder' make Davidʼs situation appear hopeless as he tries to find a path that will both save Alan Breck and James of the Glens, and keep his own neck out of the hangman's noose. With his life again in danger, the only person he can trust is Catriona, the daughter of the treacherous James More. Part adventure, part romance, and filled with atmospheric and evocative descriptions of old Edinburgh and the surrounding area, Stevenson considered 'Catriona' to be one of his finest works.

About the Author:
David Case is the founder and current president of Live Free Ministries, a ministry dedicated to restoring kingdom power and authority to spiritual leadership. Since the early 1990s, David Case has held retreats for both pastors and lay persons, helping them break through bondages and pointing them toward fulfilling the call of God on their lives. Having pastored the same church for eighteen years, Pastor Case gives other pastors the tools they need to implement the lifegiver model into a whole-church setting. Case also co-hosts a radio program and ministers internationally. It is David Case's heart to blend "the supernatural of the spiritual realm" with a very solid application into the natural realm.

Robert Louis (Balfour) Stevenson was a prolific Scottish poet and novelist in the 19th century. He was admired by many other authors, and his work includes The Black Arrow, Kidnapped, and The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. He died in 1894.
From AudioFile:
This sequel to R.L. Stevenson's KIDNAPPED takes David Balfour further into intrigue and danger as he seeks to solve the Appin murder and absolve himself and his friend, Alan Breck. Frederick Davidson delivers the text of this nineteenth-century novel with a thoroughly convincing variety of Scottish brogues and English accents. The convoluted syntax and florid literary style of the time, as well as numerous unfamiliar Scottish terms, can make the story difficult for the ear to follow. The authenticity of the reading intensifies these elements, but the stout-hearted listener can find enjoyment in the challenge while experiencing a Romance novel by this beloved adventure author.
