From School Library Journal:
Grade 2-4?Albert the pig considers himself superior to the others in the sty. Not only does he show off, but he also taunts his peers by reading recipes for pork dishes. He daydreams about life as a movie star, when his adoring fans would swoon, voluptuous bikini-clad pigs would serve him strawberry jam, and a gorgeous actress would marry him. A slip on a banana peel brings Albert to the level of his fellow pigs, who enjoy his fall immensely. Albert is totally repulsive, both in attitude and appearance. In fact, Gallibour's illustrations are somewhat disconcerting. Albert leers and poses suggestively, and the pigs seem oddly naked in the sty, especially because Albert's daydreams all involve clothed pigs. It's hard to imagine an audience for this book, the point of which seems to be taking delight in the downfall of a despicable creature.?Kathy Piehl, Mankato State University, MN
