Levobupivacaine (LVB) is an amino- amide local anesthetic agent as it is a pure S-enantiomers of bupivacaine. LVB exerts its pharmacological action through reversible blockade of neuronal sodium channels. The levorotatory isomers were shown to have a safer pharmacological profile with less cardiac and neurotoxic adverse effects.
