Condition: Very good. 1963, London, John Murray, first edition, ppviii + 153, black and white illustrations and map, red cloth in dustwrapper. With a nice, warm inscription from the author - uncommonly found so. Penelope Chetwode (Mrs John Betjeman) is one of the middle-aged ladies and her horse, 'The Marquesa" is the other. It was an interest in the breeding of Spanish horses, and a fondness for the works of Richard Ford and George Borrow that took them to Spain.
